Bitcoin up, Scammers up
Bitcoin up over 10% in a day, over double just since the beginning of the year, and the scammers are coming out of the woodwork.
Bitcoin schemes or scams will only increase in this fiat debt based system we live in as the dollar value continues to rise over time.
People are suffering and they are looking for any way to scam someone.
You may have seen this email come through or may be still wondering about it:
DO NOT touch this email. Move to junk and delete it immediately.
The more bitcoin goes up in dollar value, the more scams you will see and people trying to think of things to get control of your bitcoin.
Remember, if you control your keys in cold storage then no one can touch your bitcoin.
As the saying goes, “not your keys, not your coins.”
If you keep your bitcoin on an exchange OR you send your seed phrase to someone OR take a photo of your seed phrase and have them stored online OR write them down and keep them online you are in jeopardy of someone scraping them and then taking your seed and flushing the funds out of your wallet.
This was my response to one of our readers who emailed me and did the smart thing after smelling something off and waiting before acting.
This is a great time for some reminders…
A good note for phishing or online scams; check the email sender and see if it looks legit. The one above looks fake as can be.
Bitcoin is always going up in value as more people come to the network and fiat always goes done in value because of endless printing.
Here’s the link to the actual site to get a cold storage wallet not tampered with.
Only buy a cold storage wallet directly from the source and make sure the box was not tampered with when you receive it.
A wallet company will never email you and try and figure out your seepdhrase. They don’t and cannot know it. That is all done through your own storage device and the updates will come through there as well. The code is open source for the JADE so if you wish you could inspect the code to see if there were any bugs in the code. Many people use JADE and do that already.
Your bitcoin activity should be done all through your cold storage device.
Again, it bears repeating that bitcoin has never been hacked, it is the exchanges people keep them on or someone forgetting a seed phrase or being fast and loose with the seed, that gets people in trouble.
Bitcoin itself is fine.
Be smart and remember YOU are your own bank.
Your own sovereignty and freedom comes with a little bit of responsibility.
If you can work a phone you can work a bitcoin cold storage hardware wallet.
If you want the highest level of protection and a more advanced approach then look in to multi-signature custody where multiple people have to sign off on sending your bitcoin.
This limits attacks digitally or physically and makes them practically impossible to pull off.
With great freedom comes great responsibility.
Stay strong and stay vigilant,
