One of my favorite newsletter writers had a brilliant write up that talked about the same government claptrap we wrote about yesterday.
I have to share a portion of it because I believe it is paramount to share with the reader the evils of power gone awry. It is one of the main reasons I am compelled to write.
The more freedom we all have, the more prosperity for ALL of us.
Selfishly, it means more freedom, wealth, and harmony for me and my family and children.
This isn’t a red versus blue or left versus right issue.
This is a right versus wrong issue.
This is a freedom versus slavery issue.
I will not apologize for the strong wording. It is important to understand that even if you are someone who would rather put your head in the sand and forget about it all, I get it.
I would simply ask you to consider “why is it we are here on this Earth?”
Why did God put us here?
Did he give us a brain and free will only so other men could rule over us?
So our life could be planned out from cradle to grave by some central planner “chief decider” or some robot with AI?
I would beg to differ.
God initially put us in Eden where we had it ALL. Complete abundance; wealth, health and happiness.
WE are the ones who messed that up and created scarcity, negativity, lacking, and longing.
It is up to us to work and spread the abundance and freedom we were once granted by our creator.
It is not easy and most days it feels like you are failing.
I guess that is why you need to zoom out and look at the big picture to see your progress.
From Bill Bonner:
America’s last successful government program was WWII. Since then, they’ve all been flops and failures. And together, they’ve brought US debt from $259 billion in 1945 to nearly $30 trillion today.
Had the extra $29.741 trillion been invested in productive enterprises, instead of being frittered away on dead end wars and 70 years of gimmie/stimmie programs, it might now pay a dividend of a trillion dollars a year – $10,000 per family every year! – rather than doom the nation to bankruptcy.
It’s not ‘just money,’ in other words. Each dollar represents time, resources, and output – houses, dishwashers, vacations – that otherwise would have helped people get more of what they really wanted.
Yesterday came news that the Covid shutdowns were a waste too. With the death tolls all over the place, there didn’t seem to be any connection between how many people the Covid-19 killed and what the feds did to stop it. But now, two years later, a detailed study by the National Bureau of Economic Research gives us a fuller picture.
NBER rated each of the states on how well it managed the crisis – not just on how many people died, but on other factors, such as how many hours did children spend in school, how many people were unemployed, etc.
UT, NE, and VT were leaders in all three categories.
Among the winners, in #6 position was Florida, a state whose citizens, according to the elite press, were being wantonly massacred by an irresponsible, Covid-denying governor. It didn’t turn out that way.
And the lineup of the worst? Again, as you’d expect – Illinois, California, New Mexico, New York, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Those who embraced the shutdown policies most enthusiastically… that is, those who “followed the science” – generally, suffered most.
What we take from this experience is that the ‘science’ was bogus. Real scientists were always skeptical that we could ‘win the war’ on the Covid. At best, we could help protect vulnerable people from dying. As Shanghai is discovering now, trying to stop the bug in its tracks is probably not worth the cost.
The deeper lesson is this: America’s elite is incompetent.
Why was this so predictable?
A lot of what we write about is the exposing of the power structure. The corruption and the rot-gut of the elites and the deep state.
The central banks pave the way for the elites to sit at the mouth of the money-printing machines and disperse the freshly minted money to wherever they see fit.
In a world where “politicking” is how you make your money. Where the goal posts are always moving. It becomes harder and harder to conduct business as the walls close in around you and “rules and regs” are constantly in flux.
Printing currency just transfers silently the wealth from the poor and middle class (who generally own few if any assets) to the rich (who own most of the assets; businesses, stocks, bitcoin, real estate, etc.)
So, most resort to trying to get as close to the money spigot as possible. Lobbyists. Lawyers. Cronies. Revolving door politics.
Elites want more kids out of wedlock and women on the government dole? Here’s some “economic impact payments!”
They want people getting used to UBI and monthly government checks? Here comes an “advance child tax credit!”
They need to pass off 12 months of you paying more at the grocery store and at the pump? “PUTIN PRICE HIKES!!!”
Hooray!!!!!
Mom and Pop stores locked down. Big ones not.
Can’t buy seed to plant your own garden, that aisle is roped off, sir.
Can’t get Ivermectin or things that actually work from the pharmacy to treat the Cerveza. Only the approved company from the almighty government (that profits from every dose administered by said company) can sell you something, even if it sucks and doesn’t work the way it’s designed to.
Can’t become self-sufficient, that would mean you will need less government boondoggles in your future.
The irony is that money is nothing without goods and services. Money being doled out for no reason makes no one wealthy. The producing of goods and services, value creation, is where all wealth comes from.
At what point does it click?
At what point does the game stop?
What else has to happen for freedom-loving people across the world to stop believing that governments are actually here to help?
We shall see, stay tuned.
Stay strong,
Brandon
Ps. Bitcoin fixes all of this. It renders the need for a Federal Reserve and central banks pointless. It is a monetary system and the most free and censorship-resistant computing network humans have ever invented.
This is why people are so fanatical about bitcoin. It restores freedom and begins the healing process of elites destroying our wealth and causing the massive booms and busts in the market.
In the coming days and weeks I will provide commentary and videos on how bitcoin works and where to get more information.
