There has been massive debate around gold versus Bitcoin.
I think that in all my experience, researching markets and human philosophy, we as humans tend to have an inability to hold opposing views in our head.
Not only that but views that are not necessarily completely opposing each other, but just slightly different.
In terms of the bitcoin versus gold debate, there are many people who will stubbornly detract from the other camp.
Instead of looking at all sound money advocates as brothers in arms.
As Lawrence Leppard says, the Americans didn't tell its allies in World War II, to stop fighting and go home.
Of course, not. They welcomed all support in defeating the enemy and advancing the mission of freedom, prosperity, and liberty for all.
Lawrence is one of my favorite guys in the sound money space.
One of the few people who has seen more than most and is able to hold differing views in his head at the same time.
In my estimation, that is the mark of a true professional and a truly enlightened individual.
In the Lincoln-Douglas debates, as we all remember watching on TV back in the 1860s, you might recall that they would go on for hours and they would have to articulate their opponents viewpoint as they debated and talked about their own views.
This not only made you more empathetic to the other side, but it made you more articulate in communicating the points that you believed in.
I truly believe that if we all operated with this mindset, the human race would be much further down the line.
Anything advancing freedom, liberty free markets, capitalism, and sound money is great in my mind.
If Bitcoin can't handle the $12T market of gold and the $1T silver market then it isn't what we thought it was.
Eventually, money is a winner take all game and the best money will win.
I wholeheartedly believe that and as Gary Vaynerchuk says, you can attract a lot more people to your following with honey than you can with vinegar.
We must persuade and communicate people to come to our cause and see things our way, which I do believe gives the most prosperity to the most individuals on the planet.
However, I know it's very difficult for me many times because I want to just tell people what to do or how to think. Men….
People need to come to the conclusions on their own.
So in saying that, you must come up with the best arguments and the best explanations and evidence possible so that when people are ready, they can see your work and believe, period.
All sound money advocates are on the same playing field and battling the same direction.
Even in the Bitcoin world, we all don't hold the same beliefs.
Yes, we all might think Bitcoin is the apex predator but I believe Larry and people like him believe the same thing as well.
They just don't discount the track record of gold and the time period we live in gold and silver, and tangible assets still play a crucial role in markets today.
Maybe 50 years from now, that's a different story.
But in the here and now, we must be pulling the same direction in this tug of war.
“Us” against “them.”
The 99% versus the 1%.
The unproductive class versus the plebs.
There are much more of us than there are them.
Until we all start pulling the same direction. Like we're in the Mighty Ducks, movies with a rope around us skating the same direction, we will continue to falter or make the globalists job easier.
Anything or anyone trying to take power away from the money printers will benefit the greatest amount of people, gold does this along with Bitcoin.
Gold is still a part of that debate whether you or I like it. And that's what Larry is saying.
Gold has a track record in history, and it has millions of people that we need in the Bitcoin fight as well.
Alienating that population of people and discounting them just because their viewpoint is slightly different is ignorant at best.
As Jeff Booth says, dominate a tiny part of the market first, then you can grow into the bigger behemoth that you are meant to be once you prove yourself.
If gold bugs and bitcoiners can come together to make sound money a reality, then the final battle will between will be between these two assets and may the best one win.
I do believe that Bitcoin wins that final battle.
I know that Larry does too, at the end of the day.
We all win if that is the case and it gets to that juncture.
Most of the fights I see that happen are because people get their time horizons crossed up when in reality we need to zoom out and look at the macro mission.
The intolerance of debate in our society is an epidemic. Stymying opinion and debate is antithetical to free societies.
Stay strong,
